St Thomas the Apostle College has high quality careers advice and guidance, to support all our students.  This is developed throughout a student’s time at the school and is always supportive of their aspirations, strengths and skills.

We follow the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure that our students make informed decisions about their future.

The Gatsby Benchmarks are a set of 8 guidelines designed to help schools provide high-quality career guidance to students. They were developed based on international research and aim to ensure that young people are well-prepared for life after education, whether that's entering the workforce or continuing their studies.

We take enormous pride in our proactive and reflective approach to careers and welcome new partnerships and relationships with all providers. All students will meet with an independent careers advisor during their time here.

The impact of our Provider Access policy is measured through pupil surveys, Compass+ and our destinations data and shared in an annual careers report. This then informs our review of the careers programme and policy which is reviewed annually.

The Provider Access policy will next be updated in March 2025.

If parents, pupils or employers want any additional information, please contact our Careers Lead.
